InsideTracker

Recommendation detail page

Project Overview

InsideTracker is a personalized nutrition and wellness platform that leverages cutting-edge science and technology to provide individuals with actionable insights into their body's unique needs. By analyzing blood, physiological and genetic data, InsideTracker offers personalized recommendations for optimizing health, fitness, and overall well-being.

Central to InsideTracker's services are personalized recommendations derived from Blood, DNA, and physiological insights. Feedback from customers, obtained through ratings, reviews, Customer Support interactions, and User Experience Research (UXR), pinpointed various UX challenges. Rectifying these issues was identified as a top priority, necessitating a delicate equilibrium between the urgency to expedite the process and the imperative to maintain the quality of the solution.

To elevate the user experience of this core part of the InsideTracker experience we tackled a redesign of the recommendation detail page template.

The challenge

To enhance the overall user experience, it became imperative to tackle several key usability challenges. These included a frustratingly slow reveal of crucial information, hidden scientific insights behind a confusing Call to Action, and a chaotic content structure that made it difficult to find relevant information.

A phased approach was chosen to ensure smooth implementation and maintain user engagement throughout the improvement process.

InsideTracker's proprietary AI-powered backend engine generates personalized recommendations. Consequently, any substantial modifications to the template necessitated significant backend adjustments.

The Design Solution - Phase 1

To expedite the implementation of a swift solution in phase 1, the majority of alterations were concentrated on the front end of the recommendation detail page template.

In pursuit of this goal, the primary focus was on enhancing the navigation and accessibility of information. The content was consolidated onto a single, easily scannable page, meticulously labeled and organized for clarity.

The Design Solution - Phase 2

Phase 2 offered further improvements to the information architecture, content formatting, and labeling. Furthermore, key features were elevated and explained, such as the "Impact score" of recommendations, offering users insight into the science behind the impact calculation and the level of personalization that was being applied.
